Impending storm 8/13/11

The ice and snow in the picture is leaving!!!!! I can smell Spring in the air! The pine trees have tons of pine cones. The sun is shining more and with a warmth that has been missing since late fall! The birds are back!! I haven't seen a robin yet but you can hear the hoots, whistles, screeches, chirps, twitters, and general chaotic spring noises, as they call to one another from the woods across the road. The remaining ice cracks sharply as it thaws in the ditches. The threat of flooding is gone for today. I don't feel so blue seeing the sun shine today!



Prologue: I did see Mrs. Robin singing her little heart out in our maple tree.

One of the things that attracts me to these storms is the vastness of their size. It makes me feel so small.

We are right inbetween Oak Harbor and Fremont. Some of the early fall storms swiftly move around us. We don't get the rain. But we do get to enjoy their beauty!
